Some of Hawaiʻi’s most beloved events and festivals will be taking place across the State over the coming months. There are no shortages of world-class events and festivals, great activities and one-of-a-kind experiences that are sure to appeal to all visitors. There are also plenty of opportunities to mālama Hawaiʻi, allowing tourists the chance to protect the Islands for residents and visitors alike, and return home with incredible memories.

 

Malama Hawaii

Hawaiʻi Forest & Trail (Island of Hawai‘i) recently announced the launch of Maunakea Summit and Stars Giveback Experience. Guests participating in the company’s newest voluntourism opportunity will learn about the west side of the island’s critical Waikoloa Dry Forest habitat on an interpretive walk, collecting native seeds to be used for future plantings restoring native dominant forests. The experience ends with a sunset dinner at the summit of Maunakea volcano and private telescope stargazing led by interpretive guides. hawaii-forest.com

Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach (O‘ahu) has committed to preserving and rebuilding the ecosystem of its surrounding neighbourhood through their Mālama Hawaiʻi package. The property recently partnered with the Genki Ala Wai Project, a nonprofit organization deploying tennis ball sized mud “genki balls” into Waikīkī’s Ala Wai Canal to assist in removing sludge, debris and other pollutants. Each night’s stay at the property on the Mālama Hawaiʻi package contributes $10 to the Genki Ala Wai Project. Festivals and Events

 Aloha Festivals (O‘ahu) - September 10-24, 2022

Preserving the unique traditions of the Islands’ Hawaiian culture, the Aloha Festivals is a showcase of Hawaiian music, dance, history and the culture’s contributions to Hawai‘i. Events are scheduled throughout September and the schedule includes a floral parade, pageantry, and ho‘olauleʻa (festival) in Waikīkī, hula performances, and family-friendly activities. Kaua‘i Chocolate & Coffee Festival (Kaua‘i) - October 14-15, 2022

This annual culinary festival, held in the historic westside town, Hanapēpē, celebrates Kaua‘i -grown chocolate and coffee, with plenty of chances for sampling. In addition, festival attendees will find educational displays, a silent auction, children’s activities, workshops, live entertainment and exhibitor booths featuring a variety of chocolate and coffee products. Honolulu Pride Parade and Festival (Oʻahu) - October 15, 2022

Hawai‘i’s largest LGBTQ community event is a daylong celebration highlighted by the Honolulu Pride Parade – winding through Waikīkī from Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park to Kapi‘olani Park – and the Honolulu Pride Festival, which features live music, inspirational speeches and fun activities. Po‘ipū Food and Wine Festival (Kaua‘i) - October 19-22, 2022

All are welcome and encouraged to celebrate the fifth-annual edition of this Kaua‘i culinary festival, spotlighting Kaua‘i-procured ingredients and island chefs. The Po‘ipū Night Market is a block party featuring small-plate dishes and wine pairings alongside food demonstrations. Guests have the option to attend one, two or all three days. Annual Hawaiʻi International Film Festival (Statewide) - November 3-27, 2022

The 42nd annual Hawaiʻi International Film Festival, presented by Halekulani hotel, will again share a slate of world-class international films alongside industry events, across the State. In-theater screenings on O‘ahu happen
