SAS has seen considerable demand for its upcoming "Destination Unknown" travel experience, with over 1,000 signing up within minutes of its launch. The adventure, scheduled for April 5-8, will take participating passengers to a mystery destination.

The Destination Unknown trip will see passengers turn up at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) on the morning April 5 with no idea about where they might be headed. The three-day adventure will take them to a mystery destination in the SAS network - the exciting opportunity has clearly perked the imagination of SAS EuroBonus members, with SAS claiming over 1,000 signed up within a matter of minutes.

According to SAS, passengers will be given packing tips closer to departure, so it may be easier to narrow down potential destinations if there are giveaways in the tips. The carrier claims the flight will be "a few hours" and that the end destination will be revealed during the flight. As for the trip itself, passengers will arrive at the destination on April 5 and return on April 8, giving them four days and three nights.

What is "Destination Unknown"?

The interesting travel concept brings a sense of excitement and novelty to the travel experience. Passengers will have the option to participate in joint activities with others - these can be selected via the SAS app at no additional cost.

SAS is by no means the first airline to experiment with such a concept, with other carriers, such as Lufthansa and Peach Aviation known for their offerings in the past. In Lufthansa's case, passengers would pick a category (such as Arts & Sights, Party On or Follow The Sun) and let the airline pick the final destination for them.

How to sign up

Registration is only available for 24 hours, starting 12:00 on February 12 and ending 12:00 on February 13, and is exclusively for SAS EuroBonus members. To get started, download and log in to the SAS official app before registering - the trip can only be paid for with EuroBonus points and will cost 30,000 points for a return ticket.

Members who don't have enough points can still register and buy the remaining points within 24 hours of confirmation. For lucky winners, you will have 24 hours to confirm your place via the SAS app, after which your spot will go to the next person in line.
