The airline will commence five short-haul services from Dublin and Cork, offering its customers even more options for unforgettable getaways to some of Europe’s most charming destinations

Aer Lingus is expanding its European and transatlantic network with six brand-new routes launching next year. Taking off in time for summer 2026, the airline will commence five short-haul services from Dublin and Cork, offering its customers even more options for unforgettable getaways to some of Europe’s most charming destinations.
From May 2026, the airline will also commence a new service to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The new route brings the total number of routes Aer Lingus operates from Ireland to North America to twenty-four. The continued growth of the airline’s North American network is part of its Dublin Hub strategy, providing a convenient gateway connecting North America, Ireland, the UK and Europe.
The airline has collaborated closely with partners in the region, including the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh International Airport and VisitPITTSBURGH, to successfully launch this new service, which will strengthen the cultural, sporting, and business connections between Ireland and Pennsylvania.
This service also builds on Aer Lingus’ deep connections to the city of Pittsburgh, where it serves as an Official Airline Partner of the legendary Pittsburgh Steelers. In September 2025, the airline flew the Steelers to Dublin for a historic sold-out game at Croke Park. Additionally, in 2027, the Pitt Panthers will fly to Dublin to face the Wisconsin Badgers in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, taking place in Week Zero of the College Football calendar.
Aer Lingus’ Dublin-Pittsburgh route will operate four-times weekly on an Airbus A321neo LR aircraft from 25th May offering US customers seamless connections to Paris, Rome, Geneva, Amsterdam, Manchester and London Heathrow through the airline’s Dublin Hub.
In addition to enhancing its transatlantic operations, Aer Lingus will introduce an expanded European network for summer 2026. Customers departing from Dublin will have access to new destinations including Norway’s capital city, Oslo, Montpellier in the south of France, and Asturias, a hidden gem located on Spain’s Galician northern coast.
Customers located in Cork and the south of Ireland will benefit from services to Nice on the French Riviera, as well as to Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain, offering convenient access to the Camino de Santiago. Furthermore, Aer Lingus is extending its Cork-Prague service to operate throughout the year.
