German National Tourist Board
Certification received for the 9th time in a row

For the ninth consecutive year, the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) has been certified as a Green Globe company for the year 2021/22. Germany's National Tourist Board thus defended its Gold status in the international Green Globe programme.

Petra Hedorfer, Chairwoman of the GNTB's Executive Board: "The successful recertification confirms our long-standing commitment to sustainability issues. The balance between economy, ecology and social responsibility has become an integral part of our daily work, be it in themed marketing, knowledge transfer with our partners in German tourism and the international travel industry, or in the internal sustainability initiative within our organisation. Environmentally friendly, climate-friendly and inclusive travel is possible if we as an industry make the appropriate offers to customers and share our expertise with our partners. In doing so, we as a company are setting a good example.

The GNTB further expanded its commitment to sustainability in 2021 with numerous initiatives and projects. For example, it expanded the 'Feel Good' sustainability campaign. The campaign won awards at the WTM World Responsible Tourism Awards 2021 and the European Cultural Travel Network (ETCN) Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism Awards 2021. Holidays in rural regions as well as in the surrounding areas of metropolitan regions were central elements of the German.Local.Culture. and German.Spa.Tradition campaigns.
