Riviera Nayarit
The destination’s hotels and tourist services are operating without damage. Riviera Nayarit continues to maintain heightened monitoring in the hotel zone

Following the passage of hurricane “Nora” through the states of Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit, and Sinaloa, Mexico, on Saturday, August 28, the Riviera Nayarit’s hotel and tourism services are operating without significant damage, according to Marc Murphy, Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau.

So far, he added, damage to the tourist corridor (comprising more than 300 km of coastline) and to hotel establishments is minimal, with the exception of fallen trees and garbage on the beaches due to the rains and strong waves. This, according to a report by the hotel associations of the municipalities of Bahía de Banderas, Compostela, and San Blas.

However, in following preventive measures, there is ongoing coordination with the Civil Protection authorities of the three levels of government and the auxiliary authorities of the nearby towns.

However, Riviera Nayarit is maintaining heightened monitoring in the hotel zone. All the hotels are being kept abreast of the situation and have been following precautionary measures since the start.
