News / Winter 2027: Costa Cruises unveils new holiday concepts across the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and the Caribbean
Six itineraries, six identities: from the iconic cities of the Mediterranean to the volcanic Canary Islands and the tropical paradises of the Caribbean. This is how Costa makes winter the ideal season to discover iconic destinations from a new perspective

Choosing a cruise is no longer just about deciding where to go, but about what kind of experience to have. In winter 2026-27, Costa Cruises introduces unique itinerary concepts across the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and the Caribbean. Each voyage becomes a story with its own clear identity and character, which you can recognize from its name. Each one is designed to showcase places, emotions, atmospheres and different travel styles, with unique moments at sea and ashore.
The desire for the sea doesn't end when summer does. More and more travelers are looking to the winter months to take a break from their routine, rediscover the Mediterranean in its best season, or chase the sun in the Canary Islands and the Caribbean. This is the reason for six new itineraries: three in the Mediterranean, two in the Caribbean and one in the Canary Islands. They strengthen winter's role as a key season for people looking for the sea, discovery and new holiday perspectives.
Mediterranean: iconic cities at their perfect moment
The Mediterranean remains the star of the winter season. In winter, its iconic cities show their most authentic side: a mild climate, a relaxed pace and local life away from the high-season peaks. This lets guests experience them from a new and even more intimate perspective.
There are three itineraries, each showing a different soul of the Western Mediterranean. Aboard Costa Toscana, "Iconic Mediterranean" is a journey through the cities that symbolise Mediterranean culture, at the best time to visit them:
- Rome, with its thousands of years of heritage
- Barcelona and Gaudí's Modernisme
- Palma de Mallorca, with its cathedral overlooking the sea
- Palermo, a crossroads of Arab, Norman and Mediterranean cultures
Aboard Costa Pacifica, "Mediterranean Soul" takes guests into the heart of the most genuine port cities. Their markets, voices and scents reveal the most authentic soul of the Mare Nostrum:
- the Ramblas in Barcelona
- the souk of Tunis (La Goulette)
- the narrow streets and San Gregorio Armeno in Naples
- the Ballarò market in Palermo
"Exotic Mediterranean" spans two continents, from Andalusia to North Africa, to discover the most exotic side of the Mediterranean:
- Malaga and its Andalusian soul
- La Goulette, the gateway to historic Tunis
- Tangier, a crossroads of Arab culture
- Valencia, which combines Mediterranean light with an avant-garde spirit
Canary Islands: a different world every day
Aboard the flagship Costa Smeralda, "Canary Islands" tells the story of an archipelago with a thousand identities: volcanic landscapes, black sand beaches, golden dunes, lush forests and cliffs that drop sheer into the ocean. The constant contrasts make every day a new discovery, from the black beaches of Lanzarote to trekking around the Teide volcano on Tenerife and the golden sands of Fuerteventura.
Costa's exclusive Sea Destinations complete the voyage. These are brand-new destinations that guests experience from the unique perspective of the sea:
- Canary Sea Darkest Spot, at the darkest point of the Atlantic, where guests can admire one of the most spectacular starry skies
- Atlantis Crest, an evocative marine destination inspired by the myth of Atlantis
Caribbean: two different stories of the same tropical wonder
In the Caribbean, Costa Fascinosa offers two itineraries that show tropical wonder in two different ways.
"Antilles Collection" presents the Lesser Antilles as an archipelago where every island has its own unique identity, so guests discover a new face of the Caribbean every day:
- the white sand beaches of Tortola, a kingdom of turtles
- the volcanic landscapes of Saint Lucia
- nights under some of the darkest skies at sea
- an escape into the tropical rainforest of Guadeloupe
"Caribbean Heart" captures the very essence of the Caribbean, with the Dominican Republic at the heart of the voyage:
- the tropical paradise of Catalina
- the perfect sunsets of Turks & Caicos
- the untamed nature of Samaná
- the wild coastline of Cabo Rojo
Wonder also happens in the middle of the sea, thanks to Costa's exclusive Sea Destinations and the experiences that celebrate these unique places:
- Caribbean Sea Darkest Spot: the ship reaches one of the darkest points of the Caribbean Sea so guests can enjoy the spectacle of the starry sky.
- Guadeloupe Bay: music, lights and performances under the moon.
- Catalina Bay: a sea party among white beaches, palm trees and turquoise waters.
- Archipelago Turks & Caicos: suspended between sky and sea at sunset, with tropical
rhythms and a rum aperitif.
The journey continues after the concepts debut in winter 2027. They will also come to summer 2027 with a collection of itineraries in the Western Mediterranean, the Eastern Mediterranean and Northern Europe. This confirms a paradigm shift that redefines the way people choose and experience a cruise.
