Explora Journeys has revealed plans for its highly anticipated EXPLORA III, the third vessel in its luxury fleet, set to embark on its maiden voyage in the summer of 2026.

The ship promises an elevated travel experience with 463 opulent Ocean Suites, Penthouses and Residences, alongside world-class dining and wellness offerings inspired by the sea.

The inaugural season will see EXPLORA III traverse Northern Europe’s coastlines, the terrains of Iceland and Greenland, and the East Coast of North America. As winter approaches, the ship will reposition to the Caribbean. Throughout these journeys, passengers will be invited to immerse themselves in the brand’s hallmark “Ocean State of Mind,” redefining the essence of luxury ocean travel.

With EXPLORA III, we are thrilled to reach the halfway mark in launching our fleet of six luxury ships,” said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys. “This expansion not only reflects growth but also our commitment to providing unparalleled access to some of the world’s most extraordinary destinations. Our goal is to immerse travellers in diverse cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and unforgettable moments around the globe.

Unparalleled Comfort

EXPLORA III will offer guests an expansive onboard experience, boasting one of the highest ratios of public space per guest in the industry at 201 square feet (18.7 square metres) per passenger. With 463 lavish accommodations, including enhanced suite options, the ship ensures a serene and spacious atmosphere. Notably, 24% of the suites will be Ocean Penthouses and 9% will be Ocean Residences, reflecting a focus on elevated luxury.

The ship also introduces new features such as an additional Owner’s Residence on Deck 7 and redesigned Cove Residences, providing a variety of configurations to suit individual preferences.

Culinary Offerings

Dining on EXPLORA III will remain a highlight, with signature venues like Anthology, Sakura, and Marble & Co. Grill returning, alongside new culinary concepts. Guests will savour a diverse range of gourmet experiences, from casual bites to fine dining, across beautifully designed spaces.

Wellness & Fitness

The ship’s Ocean Wellness and Fitness area has been reimagined to provide a holistic approach to well-being. It includes The Spa, offering treatments inspired by the ocean, a cutting-edge Fitness Centre, and an open-air fitness area on Deck 14 with stunning sea views. Additional features include a running track on Deck 12 and an expanded sports court offering activities such as pickleball and basketball.

Family Fun

EXPLORA III caters to families with its enhanced Nautilus Club, designed for children and teens. From creative activities for younger children to engaging experiences for teens, the club ensures memorable moments for all ages.

  • Nautilus Club Juniors: Tailored for children aged three to five, with daily baby care services.
  • Nautilus Club Teens: Activities designed for guests aged six to 17.

Innovative Sustainability

As Explora Journeys’ first LNG-powered ship, EXPLORA III represents a significant step toward sustainable cruising. LNG technology supports a transition to bio-LNG and synthetic LNG, potentially reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 80%. The ship is also equipped with advanced energy efficiency features and shore power capabilities.

Exciting Itineraries

In summer 2026 the ship will start sailing through Western Europe with a visit to Bordeaux, France, before heading to Northern Europe. Starting in Southampton on August 17, 2026, the ship will visit destinations the Netherlands, Norway, Estonia, Sweden and Germany, before making its way to Iceland and Greenland. Along the way, guests have the chance to explore off-the-beaten-path ports such as Rønne in Denmark, Nanortalik and Paamiut in Greenland and Seyðisfjörður in Iceland.

On September 27, EXPLORA III will arrive in Quebec City, Canada, before continuing its journey towards the U.S. and Canada’s East Coast, including New York City and the Magdalen Islands, Canada. The ship will arrive in Miami on October 25, 2026 before setting sail to the Caribbean for the winter season.
