easyJet and easyJet holidays celebrated the launch of their first flights and package holidays from London Gatwick to the beautiful island of Sal in Cape Verde.

easyJet’s first ever sub-Saharan service took off this morning for the first time and will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout the year, with package holidays available to a range of hotels.

To mark the occasion, customers were surprised with giveaways at the boarding gate, including a goodie bag from the airline and package holiday company, containing travel essentials such as a travel adaptor and a travel bag. Upon arrival in Sal, customers were met with a welcome ceremony including local musicians.

Located off the west coast of Africa, Cape Verde is the latest destination to be added to the airline’s growing network.
