Meliá Hotels International
The company occupies 21st place in the business reputation monitor and remains a leader among tourism companies

Meliá Hotels International once again positions itself as a leading tourism company in corporate reputation as ranked by MERCO Empresas. Boasting 21st place and improving its position from last year, the hotel company once again is recognised in this ranking carried out by the business reputation monitor.

The hotel company, as well as being a leader in its sector, has moved up four places reinforcing its position for another year, having moved up 10 places last year. This shows how positively different stakeholders rate Meliá, trusting its value and potential as a well-established company that continues to innovate, both in terms of products and digitalisation, and offer a unique and quality experience to its guests, as well as staying committed to ESG topics. To that regard, Meliá Hotels International has been ranked as the most sustainable hotel company in the world according to the Corporate Sustainability Assessment by S&P Global 2023.

As MERCO explains, this year's ranking recognises the power of the reputational transfer between companies and leaders. In the case of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer Jaume proves his reputation and leadership once again in the MERCO Líderes ranking, positioning himself among the top 30 top business leaders in Spain and the first in his sector.

Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, adds “we are proud to be recognised for our reputation. We are honoured that our stakeholders value us, as always, in such a positive way, since it is one way of recognising the work we do every day and our commitment both to the business and sustainability".

The MERCO Empresas and MERCO Líderes rankings, conducted by the business reputation monitor using its methodology, included over 1000 directors from large corporations and more than 800 experts from the corporate world, as well as financial analysts and professors, among others. With a total of more than 46,000 participants and elaborated by Analysis and Research, the first Spanish market research institution, the MERCO monitor takes the pulse of the Spanish business sector and points out the value of the efforts of companies to consistently improve in all areas.
