Guidance on refunding consumers for cancelled bookings
ABTA will issue guidance on refunding consumers for cancelled bookings on Monday March 23, hoping to avoid triggering multiple failures due to cash drains.
The association is hoping for a decision from government by Monday to relax the Package Travel Regulations (PTRs) requirement to repay consumers within 14 days. They urge following the European Commission’s lead, encouraging the refund as travel credit instead of cash, to be convertible to cash at a later date if necessary.
